Fun in The Sun!

On what was the hottest day of the year 27 volunteers from Cardiff Rivers Group, Ferry Court Apartments and Keep Wales Tidy Litter Champions tackled the litter and rubbish alongside the River Taff as it enters Cardiff Bay alongside the Ferry Court apartment buildings. Two hours of effort resulted in a huge haul of over 50 sacks of rubbish including 8 sacks of recyclables, a shopping trolley, car and lorry tyres, plastic piping, pallets, drift wood and a chair. All the rubbish was collected the next day by the Council Parks Services (our thanks to them for stepping into help us out at the last minute). Afterwards several of the volunteers felt obligated to visit the local pub so as to avoid any chance of dehydration. You can see some photos of the event here.
