Keep Wales Tidy is running 3 River Challenges and is looking for volunteers. Whilst, these events are not in Cardiff, I know that some of you are keen to go on day trips to help clean up other Welsh rivers! If you would like to take part please just let me know when you are available and I can fit you in to a project.
Dave is attending a few of the events as a volunteer and has room for 4 people in his truck. He is also leading an event for CRG onSun 18th Sept so he really needs some helpers for that event – I hope some of you can lend a hand?!
Friday 16th River Ebbw - 6 Bells, Abertillery – all day
Sunday 18th River Ebbw - Bassaleg Railway Viaduct (Newport) - 10 until 12.30pm (CRG EVENT – Let’s show them how it’s done!)
Sat 1st Oct River Ogmore - volunteer - all day
Sun 2nd Oct River Ogmore - volunteer - all day
Don’t forget CRG has our own event on Saturday 17th September where we will be cleaning the Bute Feeder behind Cardiff Castle. Details will follow in a few weeks.
Finally, we had a great event yesterday in Llanrumney where 28 volunteers removed tonnes of waste from the River Rhymney. Photos can be viewed here http://www.flickr.com/photos/
