15 volunteers from Cardiff Rivers Group took part in the Wales Coast Path clean up last weekend. Photos can be viewed here
They were led by their Vice Chairman, Duval Ferdinand, who took charge of an event for the first time. “It was a great effort from all participants today, despite horrid weather conditions”, Duval said.
Group regulars were joined by helpers from Cardiff Trail Scrubs as they cleaned part of the Cardiff Bay Trail. Together they collected 32 bags, a trolley, traffic cone, 2 tyres and a snowman!
Hannah, a pupil from Holy Family School, said, “I really enjoyed litter-picking today and I hope to join Cardiff Rivers Group again on another venture soon”.
Cardiff Rivers Group formed in 2009 as part of the ‘Tidy Towns’ project: a partnership between Keep Wales Tidy and Welsh local authorities. Funded by the Welsh Government it supports the people of Wales to improve the quality of their local environment.
