Cardiff Rivers Group enjoyed a sunny day at the seaside on Sunday 19th May as they brought Keep Wales Tidy’s ‘Clean Coasts Week’ to a close with a clean-up of the coastline off Rover Way.
We even found a whole three-piece suite! |
17 volunteers enjoyed a change of scenery from their usual river locations. They were lucky with the weather and basked in glorious Spring sunshine as they worked hard to collect 45 bags of litter. They also unearthed a flytip and unbelievably collected a 3 piece suite, Jacuzzi shower unit and bags of domestic waste that had been illegally dumped down a banking and ended up on the beach.
All volunteers were rewarded with refreshment vouchers from McDonalds. All waste will be collected by Cardiff Council Parks services.
