A family affair by the Taff! |
The Cardiff Rivers Group fielded 13 volunteers including 4 first timers and a number of helpers from the Rowing club. One of the CRG members decided to make this into a family occasion and brought along his wife and two children aged 6 and 3. They were part of the group who picked up litter on the opposite side to the rowing club using metal litter pickers for the first ever time and pulling up the invasive Himalayan Balsam plants that riddle the river bank.
Adrian said “They had a fab time! If I start them young, then they may just grow up knowing the right things. I’m also trying to persuade Mrs B to don the waders!”
The haul included 26 bags of rubbish, a plastic water barrel, a traffic cone, length of ceramic piping and one bike.
