Stormy Weather can't deter Cardiff Rivers Group!

19 hardy volunteers battled through the full range of weather conditions today in Bute Park to clean-up the Dock Feeder. The award winning group members were not put off by the stormy weekend and encountered rain, hailstones, sunshine and wind as they waded through the silty canal.

Together they collected 12 bags of litter, road signs, traffic cones, scaffolding poles, a shovel and some fancy dress outfits (which were glamorously modelled by one of our volunteers!) from the murky depths of the canal. More photos can be seen on our Flickr Page.

"Treasure" from the murky depths!
All in all a great morning’s work for the intrepid volunteers! All rubbish will be collected by Cardiff Parks Services tomorrow.

Our next event will be on Friday 6th December when we will meet in Chapter Arts Centre from 6pm for a few, well-earned Xmas drinks, followed by a meal in a local curry house. Please let me know if you are coming along so we can book a big enough table! All welcome.
