Next event: clean-up on the River Ely, Sunday 10th June

On Sunday 10th June we will be having a change of scenery as we return to the River Ely in Fairwater. The task will be to primarily remove Himalayan Balsam, but we will also be cleaning the river.

The site is very overgrown and we will have to remove bramble, nettles etc before we can get to the Balsam, so PLEASE ENSURE YOU WEAR LONG SLEEVES, TROUSERS AND STURDY FOOTWEAR! We will provide gloves and litter-picking equipment, but if you have any suitable vegetation cutting tools eg slashers please bring them along.

Meeting point:                 The entrance to Birdies Lane, off Bwlch Rd (directly opposite Cartwright Lane) in Fairwater. Park along Bwlch Road (Click image below to view interactive map)

Meeting time:                  10am

As usual, we will provide equipment and insurance, and all waste will be collected by Cardiff County Council’s Parks Department.

Just let me know if you can make it. I won’t be there, so if you have any probs, just email Dave or call him on 07795 640324
